My guess is they let Trochek walk and they focus on signing Nino and TDA.
A part of me would like to see them make a run at signing Gaudreau but I am not sure they have the cap room to be in the conversation and he is small and they already have enough smaller players in their lineup. |

From the outside just watching them, to me offense is the issue. They need a sniper on the wing, perhaps Gaudreau would sign there? They need someone dangerous out there. Svetchnikov wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought he’d be, not sure if he just had a weak series or not. Also a PP qb. Deangelo is a nice player but not worth the baggage he will inevitably bring. I gather losing Hamilton was a tough blow to them and needs to be replaced. The PP wasn’t a threat at all really. Not having Freddie def hindered your guys chances of winning rd 2. Raanta seemed to maybe run out of gas since he’s never been a number 1. But all n all, much respect to the canes as they are most definitely a handful to play against. They remind of Hank era Ranger teams…always good enough to maybe lose and just come up short.
Not trying to troll, just my honest assessment of seeing them for 2 straight weeks lol |
